What is God’s justice and righteousness? In Amos, it is said, ” But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never failing stream! (Amos 5:24),” and He called the people ” you who turn justice into bitterness and cast righteousness to the ground.” Even though Israelite had been done their duties for God such asĀ sacrifices and offering, He expressed His anger on their people because of their hypocracy. Looking at previous chapters, what they did is shown well. They “.. trample(d) on the poor and force to gie you grain..”, and “oppose(d) the righteous and take(d) bribes and you deprive(d) the poor of the justice in the court.” God really concerns about the real problems on the society. He does not just present out there. He really care about our real life. Without justice and righteousness, it is no use of our behavior of worship. Even if I did some good acts of worship like offering or prayer, I need to check whether my activity is just limited within the christian community. It is natural to do those things, but I still have to expand my preception to minority of the society who are weak and in need. I don’t really know about all of his will, but this is a part of what he want me to do in my life. I will seek what I can do for this. I hope he show me some I can do.
